Does my dog have cancer?

Tyler. asked:
My dad seems to think that my dog has cancer.
My dog’s lip is gone and you’re able to see teeth.
But my dog likes to get out of her cage and I think that she has caught it on the cage and ripped it off. I’m a little scared for her because she has been with me for about 7 years now and I would miss her if she were to die.
What do you think?
P.s. We’re taking her to the vet to find out for sure.

Lung Cancer
Its hard do see your dog in pain.Maybye like microsopicke bug are eating his lip away or to see if your dog has cancer you have to feel around if you feel a lump then he has to have cancer or somthing wroung with him its never to late to save a dogs life.
Lung Cancer
the only way you will find out is when you go to the vet…i hope it is nothing serious…
Lung Cancer
Take her to the vet! I know how you feel. My dog has been with my for about 8 years, and I would be devastated if I lost her.
Lung Cancer
there are some cancers that can erode away tissue. but she could have injured it like you said. she could also have a nasty infection. Can’t say without seeing it. The vet will let you know.
Lung Cancer
umm if your dogs lip got ripped of take him to a vet that has nothing to do with cancer. if your dog had cancer he would not be eating and acting very strange.
and also his hair would be falling out NON STOP! n i dont meen like shedding i mean like hand fulls a day.
i would def. take him to a vet to check out his lip so it dont get infected or something

Based on the information you provided, it doesn’t sound like it’s cancer, although it’s still possible. Your vet should definitely take a look at her mouth as well as a full body checkup to see what’s wrong. If there are any lumps around the breast, belly, or anywhere else on the body that could be a sign and indication of a tumor or cancer. But only a vet can tell for sure. If there is a suspicion of cancer, you should also ask your vet for a referral to a veterinary oncologist. Good luck.
Lung Cancer
I’m glad to hear you’re taking your dog to the vet. If she caught her lip on the cage and tore it, you would be seeing a big bloody mess and it would be extremely obvious as to what happened. But dogs do get cancer, so without a more detailed description, I can be of no more help to you. I know that you’re scared and love your dog. Your vet will be able to tell you exactly what has happened and what you can do to help her. If it is cancer, you do have options. Some can be safely surgically removed. You also have the option of chemotherapy. But just remember, no matter what happens, there will come a time when you will lose your dog. Just think about her quality of life and try not to keep her alive strictly for your own sake. I’ve seen some owners make every heroic effort to keep their beloved pet alive, but the pet ends up suffering miserably, sometimes for much longer than is humane. You have to understand that if you really love your dog, you have to let them go.

Glad you are going to the vet. People here can give many different opinions and all be wrong. None of us are vets or can even see the dog.
Praying all will be okay.

The vet, is the only one who can give you that answer! I hope it’s not cancer, but something that can be easily treated. Good Luck!
