Smoking bans: yeah businesses lose money but don’t we save on paying taxes to help lung cancer victims?

No. It is very doubtful we will ever see a tax cut because fewer people are getting lung cancer; our representatives will just invent new ways to spend our tax dollars. In fact, you are likely to see a tax increase due to a decrease in tax revenue generated by the sale of tobacco.
Whether or not an establishment wants to allow smoking should be up to the owner(s), not politicians.

No you don’t save anything. You end up having to keep alive millions of old people who would have died long ago had you let them enjoy a smoke. Its the next nightmare for governments.

I don’t smoke but feel sorry for smokers, their addictoin is funding so much of our state and yet they are villified.
There will be chocoalte and burger taxes, soon, and no real help to quit those either….

No we don’t ,and do you know how much cigarette smokers pay in taxes, most of the cost for the cigarettes is taxes keep messing with smokers and the government will have to find something else to tax because there won’t be any smokers they will quit.

No, have you seen how much the government taxes cigarettes? I am pretty sure smokers are covering their own medical costs. A better question would be where is the government going to get all the tax from smokers when they all quit because there is no where to smoke or the taxes are so high they can’t afford it.
