I heard that dehydrated liver is good for dogs, but he wasn’t specific if it was beef or chicken liver. So what I am wondering is are dehydrated chicken liver, gizzards and hearts good for dogs and cats, and do I have to do anything other than put them in the dehydrator for a few hours?

Livers, hearts and other organs from chicken and cow are perfectly fine for your animals.
I always bake or pan sear mine for my dogs. (If I’m baking my chicken, I bake it along side it, with no seasonings on it.)
I generally just stick with chicken.
If you are dehydrating it, you shouldn’t have to do anything else to it.

It’s perfectly safe – I actually buy mine from the pet store (dried chicken liver). Just be sure not to feed too much, as it can be quite rich. Small pieces, and used sparingly.
Stage 4 Lung Cancer
I feed my dogs raw chicken livers, but for treats i buy livers that are dehydrated. I feed gizzards and hearts too, but I just feed those raw.

Dehydrated organs, both beef and chicken, are good treats for dogs and my cat will sometimes eat small pieces too. Beef liver is huge so you’ll want to stick with chicken livers.
