In Matthew 17:20 Jesus says this, “Because of your lack of faith. I tell you with certainty, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”

I know of a child who has a brain tumor. I know for a fact that thousands of people are praying for the tumor to go away. It’s been a couple of years now and it’s still there. Is it not God’s will for the child to be healed? If not, then having faith doesn’t matter if it’s not God’s will for it to happen. Why doesn’t that verse above mention that? It makes it sound like if you have faith you can do anything. There should also be a disclaimer saying that it must be God’s will first, shouldn’t there? If you think it’s not God’s will, how would you tell the child’s parents that? They need to know so they can quit wasting money and time on treatments, they are exhausted. I know that sounds bad, but I went through something similar with my brother and the end result was death.

Hey Fraek, that’s great! You read in the Bible that if you have faith you can do great things. So, you pray that your child is healed and voila, God heals him by killing him and letting him live in Heaven. Awesome logic! I’ll go tell his parents!
jusapobo: so, even if you have faith to move a literal mountain like Jesus says, that doesn’t matter if it’s not God’s will, right?
Allegory…..what? I don’t get what you’re saying. Jesus doesn’t say anything about the law in the verse I quoted.
Mr. Bull: There are 1000’s of people praying for this child. 1000’s!!! Not just the parents. Are you saying that out of all of these people that none of them have the faith as the grain of mustard seed? Not even all of them added up? What’s the purpose of having faith then if you can’t have enough to get anything done?
Ah Klm, but why don’t we know that to be the truth? That is the million dollar question isn’t it. You know why they don’t know? Because God isn’t talking to them. We can talk to him all we want, but we will never hear anything from him, and know for a fact that it is him. It’s up to us to just hope that he might do something, and we just sit and wait.
NJA, I too have seen people become vegetables, but with physical therapy they too recovered.
Klm, did God tell you “no” before your grandfather died, or did you find out after he died?
