How much faith does it take to receive healing for a brain tumor?
In Matthew 17:20 Jesus says this, “Because of your lack of faith. I tell you with certainty, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”
I know of a child who has a brain tumor. I know for a fact that thousands of people are praying for the tumor to go away. It’s been a couple of years now and it’s still there. Is it not God’s will for the child to be healed? If not, then having faith doesn’t matter if it’s not God’s will for it to happen. Why doesn’t that verse above mention that? It makes it sound like if you have faith you can do anything. There should also be a disclaimer saying that it must be God’s will first, shouldn’t there? If you think it’s not God’s will, how would you tell the child’s parents that? They need to know so they can quit wasting money and time on treatments, they are exhausted. I know that sounds bad, but I went through something similar with my brother and the end result was death.
Hey Fraek, that’s great! You read in the Bible that if you have faith you can do great things. So, you pray that your child is healed and voila, God heals him by killing him and letting him live in Heaven. Awesome logic! I’ll go tell his parents!
jusapobo: so, even if you have faith to move a literal mountain like Jesus says, that doesn’t matter if it’s not God’s will, right?
Allegory…..what? I don’t get what you’re saying. Jesus doesn’t say anything about the law in the verse I quoted.
Mr. Bull: There are 1000’s of people praying for this child. 1000’s!!! Not just the parents. Are you saying that out of all of these people that none of them have the faith as the grain of mustard seed? Not even all of them added up? What’s the purpose of having faith then if you can’t have enough to get anything done?
Ah Klm, but why don’t we know that to be the truth? That is the million dollar question isn’t it. You know why they don’t know? Because God isn’t talking to them. We can talk to him all we want, but we will never hear anything from him, and know for a fact that it is him. It’s up to us to just hope that he might do something, and we just sit and wait.
NJA, I too have seen people become vegetables, but with physical therapy they too recovered.
Klm, did God tell you “no” before your grandfather died, or did you find out after he died?

Lung Cancer
It takes doctors, my friend.
Lung Cancer
*In my Christian voice*
Oh that?…that’s not supposed to be taken litterally, god gave us all free will and you can’t know happiness without death, blha blah blah
Lung Cancer
God will take it away eventually. Just be patience. Is the child Christian? If so, then the end result may be death yet again. By letting the child die, God effectively takes away the tumor and the child gets to go live in heaven. If he doesn’t kill the child, then there’s a good chance that he’ll remove it through a miracle or something.
Lung Cancer
it takes all of your faith ,you can’ not give half half to God. you must give your whole unto God then you shall be healed
Lung Cancer
This is a evil world and that is a heart breaking situation. Yes I believe that it still needs to be God will and if it is God will heal him. Also remember that God will not give you a trial that you can not handle. Just imagine that if that child was born to some one that did not care about there child. The child you are talking about could have already died by now.
Lung Cancer
My pastor’s brother was murdered while begging for his life. While trying to protect his brother he himself was grazed by a bullet in the back of the neck. A few years later my pastor’s wife got cancer, and was cured. His faith is still strong.
We can pray but God will still have it His way.

the law is not of faith: Galatians 3 (Romans 14:23)
so don’t even go there, to trusting in the law,
for law is accuser of the brethren: John 5:45,
and grace is the healer of the brethren
so begin your faith–>hope–>charity(never fails),
with “grace is sufficient” (no law at all req’d)
unless you want your hope to be hopeless,
and your love to fail as oft as people divorce

As it seems you are a person of faith I will answer this way:
G-d not only gave us religion he also gave us free will, and by eating from the tree of knowledge he gave us the ability to learn and science gave from that.
Doctors are not G-d. But are but one tool through which G-d works.
By giving up you are showing you have no faith rather than showing you have faith.
In the end the Child may indeed die.
If the parents feel they are “wasting time and money” the are also showing they have no faith.
Not knowing more about the case I can say nothing more.
Lung Cancer
The Bible does talk about God’s will. I have learned that He does things on His own time table. Will He heal the child? I know that He can (I’ve seen it done before), but I don’t know that He will (I’ve seen this happen too). Her parents do not need to be told that it is not God’s will that their child survive (we don’t know that to be the truth). You said that faith doesn’t matter if it isn’t God’s will…but there are examples in the Bible where people prayed and changed God’s mind about things, so even if it is God’s will to take the child home, prayer can change His mind. I hope the best for the little one and for his parents/family/friends.
EDIT: if you are expecting to talk to God and Him appear before you and tell you the answer, chances are very very slim that it will ever happen. I pray and talk to God, He gives me His answer, I know it is Him answering me and I have no doubts about it. When my cousin had lukemia (at 3 years old), only had 2-4 months to live, all treatments had failed, there was nothing left to do but make him comfortable. God healed him (he is 36 now). When my grandpaw got sick and was dieing, I prayed for him, I had faith in God, I asked God to heal him. God answered me, and His answer was no. We don’t always get the answer we want, but that doesn’t mean God isn’t answering.
Lung Cancer
In 1974, Granville, who is now in our Manchester fellowship had a brain heamorrage and was a “vegetable” after, he couldn’t feed or clean himself.
He called on God and recovered.
Some time later he and his wife emigrated to Adelaide, Australia where they became born again and were with our fellowship there.
In March 1985 he had another brain heamorrage and fell at his doorstep. Somehow a sister 2 blocks away heard him cry and came over call an ambulance and she prayed for him.
When he woke up in the hospital bed there were 3 doctors at the end.
The lady doctor asked him what he thought happened, he said “I believe I died” (the surgeon in Manchester had said that if it happened again he wouldn’t survive). She replied he had died three times. The surgeon had said he could do nothing more for him and “it’s in the hands of God”.

God has no favourites, but some people struggle to believe, so he provides people that truly do.
Lung Cancer
Apart from 10% of all known arthritis I have never known that to fail I have personally seen this heal illness that Western Medicine had long given up on
Research it for Yourself as I did and then try and explain to others Some People actually run away from You
It is level one that is needed
This isn’t distracting from what can be achieved by belief in a Deity just a nice little extra If I can explain in that term without causing offence
