Lung Cancer
lots of things can cause cancer. and smoking causes more cancers than just lung cancer. cancer can be caused by breathing in chemicals and pesticides. it can be caused by eating certain chemicals and being obese gives you a higher risk of cancers.
it can also be caused by blood cells and mutations in cells.
i had lymphoma before.
Lung Cancer
“cancer” cells occur when a normal cell has undergone many mutations, that results in the proliferation of new mutated cells. These cells then “take over” from the normal cells. This is then a “cancer”. What causes these mutations is open to much debate and has been researched for many many years. Some viruses, such as EBV (the glandular fever virus), Hep B and C etc, are linked to soome of these mutations. Other mutations may be related to toxins, such as tar in cigarettes. Smoking is linked to not only lung cancer, but to many other types of cancer. A cancer of the bladder, transitional cell carcinoma, is common in smokers, less so in no smokers. So the simple answer to your question, is that there are many different causes of the cellular mutations that cause cancer.
