Husband possibly has cancer?
I dont even know why I am writing on here…I guess i just need some advice from someone else…my husband is 22 years old…we just got married…he has been overseas for 15 months and there is a slight possibility he is going back in october for another 12 month tour, and I am 20…8 months pregnant and have not seen him since april 15th because he is in VA for school.
anyways he just told me the other day that he found out that there is a 98% chance he has cancer…his right side of his stomach is caved in and keeps getting worse…he has bowel problema and the other day he passed streight black… I am scared and i dont want anything to happen to him…can someone give me any kind of positive advice??? please

I’m so sorry to hear that. I’d say maybe it’s something else, but you said they are 98% sure. I suppose the most important part, is it was found, and he can start getting it taken care of. It’s a tough road to walk. I’m 27 now; I was 25 when I was diagnosed with Cancer- Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. They are making progress daily with Treatment. Depending on factors and type; He may pull right through it.
It’s such a scary time, I know. I’m personally not religious; I found That it helps, to do reading on the particular type and all current options available. Keeping your head is important; There will be choices ahead, be as informed as you can.
Most importantly try to find salvation in something. Both of you will be stressed out till you know more; It may seem to make him depressed, He needs to smile. Stress is a killer thats a fact, Love heals. Don’t make him talk about it, or not talk about it…He’ll set the pace, has a lot to think about- Let him get it out. I hope the best for you and your husband.

the sooner he gets to see a doctor, and gets diagnosed, the better chances of having successful treatment.
Passing black stools is a sign of cancer, but it also is a sign of a gastric ulcer which is bleeding. A large amount of blood gets digested as it’s passing through the gut, and appears as a black, tarry sticky stool.
If he’s on iron tablets or supplement, it can also make his stools black.
The only way to know for sure is to get a proper medical check.

There are so many types of cancer and today there are many, many different types of treatments. My wife was diagnosed with colon cancer about a year and a half ago and it was thought to be an ovarian cyst. During the surgery to remove the “cyst” I was pulled into a room and told my wife had colon cancer…which was the size of a football. I understand your fear, but there is something that can be done. We ended up at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and they saved my wife’s life. They are simply the best doctors in the world. I will pray for your husband, you and your new baby, but please get your husband to an oncologist right away to see what can be done….it’s not over until it’s over.
