Have you ever put sunscreen on your dog?

rylie’smom asked:

My dog (Westie) spends much of the summer months outside on his back with his belly up sun tanning. I’m worried about skin cancer but it’s very hard to keep a dog from going in the sun. Have you ever or have you ever heard of putting sunscreen on your dog? Some baby sunscreens come in spray form and that seems like it would be easy to put it on him.

My 11 year old shih tzu has sin cancer on his upper, inner thigh. It is slightly smaller than a golf ball. What would be the average price for removal?

NorthernCA/FL asked:

We received a visual inspection diagnosis 2 weeks ago. They scoped the stomach, said it appears to be adenocarcinoma of the pylorus. They took biopsies, but te results were inconclusive. Would the endoscopist really be able to have a good feel for the diagnosis?

The area had been bleeding….tarry stools, vomiting undigested blood, weakness, SEVERE anemia. Dog received two transfusions.

He is now on Carafate and Pepcid several times a day. He seems to be making a miraculous recovery. Gums are now pink, he is eating and feeling well…..

What is the deal? Maybe he doesn’t have cancer after all. OR are the medications stopping the bleeding, giving him more time?

He is 14…..what if the Dr. made a mistake, and it is not cancer?

I now need to know how long do I keep him on these medications….I am afraid to stop them, for maybe the bleeding and anemia will return…

Help, my dog my have cancer?

Lily asked:

I have a 4 year old lab. A few months ago I noticed that he had a lump on right front right paw. The lump would go down and pop back up, about a month and a half ago it got really big and he began chewing on it alot and it would get really red and bloody. The vet said he needed to remove the lump and send it in for a biopsy. I got the results last night and it was cancer, he said stage II, stage I is the lowest and stage IV is the lowest. He took some blood to get a test done to see if the cancer may have spread into his blood. I’m so scared, has anyone experienced this before? The vet said that it was caught early enough so if it did come back positive he would get a series of shots to clear it out. I have no idea how much that would cost, I have already spent about $1500 on getting the tumor removed and getting a biopsy and bloodwork. Does anyone have any information on this, please any information would help.

Brandon P asked:

it’s like a liquid pouch and moves around. It doesn’t seem to be sensitive to the touch, but it is concerning to me. What could it be?
