Andy D. asked:

In Matthew 17:20 Jesus says this, “Because of your lack of faith. I tell you with certainty, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”

I know of a child who has a brain tumor. I know for a fact that thousands of people are praying for the tumor to go away. It’s been a couple of years now and it’s still there. Is it not God’s will for the child to be healed? If not, then having faith doesn’t matter if it’s not God’s will for it to happen. Why doesn’t that verse above mention that? It makes it sound like if you have faith you can do anything. There should also be a disclaimer saying that it must be God’s will first, shouldn’t there? If you think it’s not God’s will, how would you tell the child’s parents that? They need to know so they can quit wasting money and time on treatments, they are exhausted. I know that sounds bad, but I went through something similar with my brother and the end result was death.

Hey Fraek, that’s great! You read in the Bible that if you have faith you can do great things. So, you pray that your child is healed and voila, God heals him by killing him and letting him live in Heaven. Awesome logic! I’ll go tell his parents!
jusapobo: so, even if you have faith to move a literal mountain like Jesus says, that doesn’t matter if it’s not God’s will, right?
Allegory…..what? I don’t get what you’re saying. Jesus doesn’t say anything about the law in the verse I quoted.
Mr. Bull: There are 1000’s of people praying for this child. 1000’s!!! Not just the parents. Are you saying that out of all of these people that none of them have the faith as the grain of mustard seed? Not even all of them added up? What’s the purpose of having faith then if you can’t have enough to get anything done?
Ah Klm, but why don’t we know that to be the truth? That is the million dollar question isn’t it. You know why they don’t know? Because God isn’t talking to them. We can talk to him all we want, but we will never hear anything from him, and know for a fact that it is him. It’s up to us to just hope that he might do something, and we just sit and wait.
NJA, I too have seen people become vegetables, but with physical therapy they too recovered.
Klm, did God tell you “no” before your grandfather died, or did you find out after he died?

Michelle820 asked:

I recently went into my Gyno because I had a lump under my armpit, that I have had for quiet sometime but it has gotten bigger so I thought I better get it checked out. She sent me for a ultrasound and decided to do my ****** on that side as well. When the ultrasound came back, the one under my armpit is a mass, and they found a small mass in my ****** as well. Im only 25 years old, and kinda a little freaked out at this point. They want to send me in for a biopsy on the ****** and a biopsy / possible removal on the one under my armpit. Is this bad news? Do they think its cancer? Im soooo scared. Does the biopsy hurt? What is the procedure like? Will the put me to sleep or just numb the area? Will they give me medicine so I dont know whats going on? Please if you have been through this please give me your experiences.

Thanks!!

Nicotine Patch as a smoking alternative?

The Pig! asked:

I have come to the realization that stopping smoking most likely is not a feat that I will be able to accomplish. However, I have used Nicoderm CQ as a smoking alternative in the past for short periods of time. What if I were to stop smoking and continue to use the 21 mg patch on a daily basis (instead of stepping down to lower mg patch after 14 days) in place of smoking altogether. Will my chances of developing lung cancer drop by using the patch to get my nicotine fix? My mother died from lung cancer due to smoking so this is my main concern. However, I also worry about weight gain from stopping smoking. Has anyone else tried this? If so, what were your results? Any info appreciated. Before answering, Please understand that I am not trying to quit completely I am looking for a permanant alternative to cigarettes.
