How do I deal with my mom having cancer?

Skittles777 asked:

Hi, im 14 and my mom has cancer. She will most likely live there is practically no chance of her dying, but i’m really worried. I know she’ll be fine soon but i can’t stop thinking about it. I keep thinking things like, “what if i get it?” “what if it keeps coming back” “what if something goes wrong?” How can I deal with this?

I was diagnosed with lung cancer about 2 weeks ago. I haven’t had a scan yet to determine the stage or whether it has spread. Upon meeting the oncologist that I have to see, she’s recommending chemo. Could this mean that I have advanced cancer?

I am 27 years old and have a son and has never smoked or anything. I do have a history of benign respiratory papillomas and this may be the cause of my cancer.

My dad was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer last year. He had an operation to remove the tumour and shortly after started Chemo. We found out recently that the chemo didnt work and the cancer had spread. He underwent a PET scan and we have recently found out that the cancer has spread in his peritoneal, stomach lining and possibly his spine. The Dr’s have said there is nothing they can do except for more chemo to shrink the cancer but we cannot accept that. Does anyone know of any treatments anywhere in the world that will give my dad a better chance and keep him with us as long as possible.

If you had your last shot at doing something to cure cancer in you, what would you try? What have you heard about? Would it be a special substance into an IV? What is out there?
