Karen asked:

My step mom’s 12 or 13 year old black lab has liver cancer and I was wondering how long it would have to live?

Seeker asked:

I have a strong family history of prostate cancer (father & older brother). I am now over 65 and my PSA tests have remained at normal levels I have that test and a rectal exam by a urologist done annually. I’ve heard recently that pomegranate juice may be of value in treating men wiith prostate cancer whose cancer is still progressing despite radiation and/or hormonal therapy. What I’d like to know is this:

(1) Is there any evidence that it might help in preventing or delaying onset of the disease? and
(2) Is there any indication it could interfere with early diagnosis by skewing the PSA test?

tralala asked:

I am 19 years old.

My parents are both 50-somethings.

My dad has rectal cancer and my mom has breast cancer. They were both just diagnosed, around the same time too.

I want to know…what are my chances of developing cancer?

prestonwhitlow asked:

I realize cancer depends on many different factors, including family history and genetics. I can’t affect those aspects. But what CAN I do, while I’m still seemingly young and healthy, to reduce the risk of cancer when I am older?

curl up and die asked:

If you consider all the fund-raising and research development in search of cures, as well as the profits from current treatment regimes condoned by the FDA and cancer-experts, is it in the medical industry’s best interests to keep searching for the cure rather than actually find a cure for cancer?

And do you personally trust the pharmaceutical companies to provide the most effective form of treatment? Couldn’t they obtain more profits by marketing two less-effective treatments than one effective treatment?
